The people asking come from diverse backgrounds, from absolute beginners to team leaders struggling with their old accounts being frequently banned. The anxiety behind the question is common: everyone has stepped on landmines, tried various “tutorials,” and found that those “standard answers” don’t seem to work for them.

When your business is small, with only three to five accounts, manual operation, careful maintenance, and simulating real human behavior are not difficult. But once the scale expands to dozens or hundreds of accounts, the pressure mounts. For efficiency, many teams go to the other extreme: over-reliance on automated scripts, pursuing high consistency in all account behaviors.

In the early days, like many others, I was keen on collecting various “tricks”: letting accounts rest for 48 hours after registration, browsing only without interacting for the first three days, filling in information in a specific order… Some of these tricks came from experience, others from superstition. They might be effective at certain times, but they cannot form a reliable system.

Even with clear thinking and appropriate tools, uncertainties remain. Platform rules are constantly evolving, and today’s “safe zone” may change tomorrow. This is why I don’t believe in eternally unchanging “tutorials.” What we can build is a methodology that is more resistant to risk, based on current knowledge.

It significantly reduces the risk of being banned due to environmental association, but account safety is a comprehensive result of environment, behavior, content, IP quality, historical records, and multiple other factors. Q: How long does a new account really need to be “nurtured” before marketing activities can begin? A: There’s no fixed time. A better metric is “account status.” Pay attention to these signals: Has it started receiving friend requests normally and established a small number of connections? Have its pure content posts (non-ads) received natural likes or comments? Has the account joined a few relevant groups and started lurking? When the account looks like a real person who has been active for a while, then begin extremely restrained, marketing-oriented tentative steps. This process might take two weeks, or it might take a month.

Q: How do I determine if an account is “high-authority”? A: This is a vague concept, but there are some perceptible indicators: Is the natural reach of its posts relatively stable and higher than a new account? Is it easier to get approved when applying to join high-quality business groups? When running ads, is the ad account’s initial trust higher (e.g., spending limits increase faster)? When communicating with customer service to unban an account, does the process feel smoother? Authority is the accumulated trust score the platform has in your “digital identity,” reflected in the “smoothness” of various interactions.

Ultimately, building and managing a Facebook account matrix is less about technology and more about a continuous imitation and game of wits against platform rules and human-like behavior. It has no eternal endpoint, only a constantly adjusting process based on experience and systematic thinking. I hope these scattered observations offer you a perspective different from “tutorials.”
